The Kaduna State governor, Nasir El’Rufai on Thursday claimed that he runs the most diverse executive cabinet in the country with members from 21 states across the country.

He made the claim at the ongoing KADIVEST holding in the state.

Speaking at the sixth edition of the Kaduna Investment Summit tagged KADINVEST 6.0, holding in the state, the governor said, “One of the things I’m very proud of your Excellency is the quality of people we have in the Kaduna State government and we have them from every part of Nigeria.

“Our cabinet has representation from 21 States out of the 36 States in Nigeria. We have the most diverse executive council in the country.”

Furthermore, El-Rufai said the state was investing aggressively in renewable energy and solar power, noting that the state government was building a 100-megawatt plant, and is collaborating with the Africa Finance Corporation to build a 1,000-megawatt solar plant in the state to add to the National grid electricity as mining and quarrying.

“One of the largest investments in this state your Excellency is the $650 million iron ore mining and manufacturing plant that will by the grace of God, by next year’s KADINVEST 7.0, will produce the first made in Nigeria still, which is entirely using natural resources from Kaduna state.

“We are also investing N80 billion on road networks alone in three cities. But we have opportunities to absorb up to N20 trillion to fund our state infrastructure over the period 2018 to 2050.

“We’ve started implementing this infrastructure master plan but the plan is there and the opportunities are there to build this and we hope our successors will continue where we left off.

“We hope to continue the implementation of the state development plan and second development plan after it is launched today with a developed sector implementation plan so that every ministry, department and agency knows what to do,” the governor added.

Also, he noted that the state is implementing an SDG acceleration plan to fast-track the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
